Funding boost to help Cumbria households cut bills - CAfS
Households in South Lakeland and Eden will get an extra helping hand to cut their energy bills. CAfS is expanding support for households wanting to make energy-saving home improvements or fit solar panels, after successful bids to the government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. Read more on CAfS’ website.
Two hundred communities revive green spaces to boost wildlife and wellbeing - Northumberland Wildlife Trust
Nextdoor Nature is one of the latest initiatives in The Wildlife Trusts’ mission to inspire and support 1 in 4 people to take action for nature. Climate Solutions for Cumbrian Landscapes: Hedgerows - CAfS
Tuesday 14th March, 2.00-3.00pm, online
While often taken for granted, our humble hedgerows are vital to sequestering and storing carbon emissions in their roots, leaves and surrounding soil. In this event, the University of Leeds will share their work on how hedgerows sequester soil carbon, and see examples of hedgerow planting and restoration in Cumbria. Register on CAfS’ website.
Charities and the climate crisis - Charity Digital
